The purpose of the GVCC is to promote, and improve conditions for cycling in Greater Victoria by:
- Improving cycling education

- Supported cyclist education programs
- Participated in bicycle safety and awareness campaigns to promote safe cycling
Promotion:

All of this has been accomplished since seven people started organizing the GVCC in 1991. Today we have hundreds of enthusiastic members. Each new member strengthens our voice when we advocate on behalf of the tens of thousands of cyclists in Greater Victoria.
