Important Update--Thursday, January 10th, 2:00 a.m.:

On the evening of Thursday, January 9th, Victoria City Council voted to accept the Railyards plan, and approved Development Permit #02-26. Please join us in sending thanks to Mayor Lowe and Council members. Contact information is available below

Thank you for your helping ensure the integrity of the Galloping Goose--one of our region's most important cycling resources!

Important Update--Thursday, January 9, 1:30 p.m.:

The Committee of the Whole meeting this morning went quite smoothly. We had a good turnout at 9:00 a.m., with no fewer than ten GVCC members in attendance to show support to Council for maintaining the original plan. It was a very clear presence.

The staff report was presented to Council, and City staff reiterated that other solutions can be brought into play to mitigate impacts of traffic increase, other than extending Harbour Road.

If you do enter the meeting room later (and miss all the juicy bylaw discussions--great water cooler stuff! hmmm), just a note for those who haven't attended a Council meeting before (if there is anyone here who hasn't): please act as you would a theatre performance, waiting for a break between agenda items and doing so quietly. Showing respect earns big points with Council and Mayor Lowe.

See you there!-->

Important Update--Tuesday, January 7, 4:45 p.m.: City Staff's Railyards report just released (392 KB)
