19 people RSVPd to this ride and all 19 showed up plus 2 more despite the rainy and windy day. So 21 of us proved that you can have a lot of fun on a ride even if the weather isn't the greatest. Having the right gear is important too! We visited some of the oldest buildings in Victoria:
The oldest Synagogue in Canada, 1863
The 2 Wharf St. Warehouses, 1864
Angela College, 1864
St. Ann's Schoolhouse, 1855
Helmcken House, 1852
Carr House, 1863
Woodlands House, 1861
Ross Bay Villa, 1865
Not many pictures were taken during the tour due to the rain. The following were taken the next day:
By this time we were a little damp and very hungry so decided to skip that last leg of the trip (Tod House, 1851 in Oak Bay) and headed for The Moon Under Water Brew Pub on Rock Bay. Many thanks to this English style pub for opening up just for us and describing their beer making process and providing us with samples of 3 of their beers.
Then it was on to Spinnakers for another beer tasting and snacks.
The other 5 breweries and brew pubs we contacted either were not open on the weekend or did not do tastings or did not reply! We will do this tour again in the spring and with enough planning ahead we can hopefully get in more stops.
It was great to endure a bit of hardship - a rainy and windy ride - as a group that might have been just plain miserable if done alone! All the more reason to come out for our rides through the fall and winter no matter the weather!

It was a good ride, just long enough given the weather, and some interesting facts about old buildings in Victoria. Recommended as a spring ride...
