14 riders turned out for a glorious fall day. Sunny and for once very little wind. We spent 4 leisurely hours taking in the tree spectacular in a roughly circular route via Selkirk Station, north on the Galloping Goose and Lochside trails, east to UVIC, south through the tree lined neighbourhoods of Uplands and Oak Bay then west through Fairfield (with a detour through Ross Bay cemetery) to James Bay and then north along Government and Wharf to the Canoe Club for a debriefing.
Approximately 30 K was travelled at an average speed of 15KPH. Which works out to 2 hours of riding and 2 hours of stops at: the Cafe at UVIC, Casey's Market in Oak Bay for lunch supplies, a hike and lunch stop at Anderson Hill Park and 2 more hikes for the views at Gonzale/Walbran and Moss Rocks parks
A grand time was had by all. Perhaps we will do a variation on this ride in the next couple of weeks.
